19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts
A comeback Medvedev secured his maiden trophy for over two years with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has endured a challenging year, winning just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in specific - caused him falling of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-time mentor Cervara.
Currently training with Johansson and his other coach, he has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Moutet.
This marks the player's first title since the Italian tournament and first on a hard surface from spring of that year.
Success also means he has secured twenty-one titles at 21 distinct events.
"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a title is particularly special," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his last six championship matches, featuring in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's counter-punching play style and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted observers to wonder if his ability to compete at the elite level was finished.
However the player has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and play assertively, supported by an improved serving game.
He came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging opponent, winning four of the concluding five points to go ahead.
Both players exchanged breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his first ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to push for a final set.
He rescued four early-game break points in a competitive third set before Medvedev won the break to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, he clinched the title with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to control a shot after a lengthy match.
